THE INVISIBLE ILLNESS ΔΊπŸ”—πŸ”—

At the end are a few who've struggled with mental illness, Bruce Springsteen, Jerry West, Bill Walton, Robin Williams, Kate Spade, Ernest Hemingway. Sadly, Kate, Robin, Ernest couldn't cope and took their own lives. I'm sure they had extraordinary medical help, yet they still were alone πŸ˜” at the end, and made the decision to leave this life.
West by West, Born to Run, Back from the Dead , are all excellent reads. Bruce, Jerry, Bill are not shy about sharing their mental health issues in the books.
Bruce,  Jerry, Bill all had excellent support from family & friends.  The value of compassion & empathy cannot be overstated in importance.
These folks who allowed me to be a Good Smaritan.  Ed, 87, a proud veteran I drove from his Syosset L.I. home to cancer center, 1/2 hour each way. He was difficult to understand , he had a tracheostomy.  He was very appreciative. Rosa was also a cancer patient,  muy bueno. Frank B a fellow high school classmate, I didn't know him until he sat next to me in senior chemistry class. Very shy, but no matter, I joked with him & invited him into our small group. I treasure his words in my yearbook more than any other.
Kind considerate words go a long way. πŸ˜ƒ
