My two friends.πŸ™♥️

I had two friends die recently, one on Saturday night, one on Wednesday, one penniless (literally,he lived in a tent in Fairport near canal) , one worked at the executive level of a major financial firm, one never married, one married with four children, one I knew for less than a year, one I knew from hs, and for over 47 years. Though I didn't see him often over the years.

Both very friendly, both humourous, both men of Christian faith, both avid sports fans, one 60, the other 61. One died suddenly & tragically, the other lost the battle with cancer.

I considered both Mike & Steve friends, though not very close with either. If I called for help they would both help as much as they were able.

I think it's a race as to who got to heaven first. Maybe they bumped into each other and are kibitzing about  the tall LI farm kid, who played hoops for a bit, but treated each as the Christian neighbors they were.

A toast 🍻πŸ₯‚to both,  and RIP my friends. πŸ™

P.S. Steve is far right in group photo.
Matthew 25:13
"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour."
Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” -Matthew 19:21-24

Finally, thank God for making a way so that even the wealthy can approach His throne! “With man this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). Used in the right way, wealth is a blessing that we can steward God’s finances to bless the kingdom at large.

Live life, laugh, love your friends. And we'll meet them again & do it again.πŸ™
