Jets Sweep Bills in 2008
A NYJ lifetime ago, same for the Buffalo Bills fans, except JETS & BILLS headed in opposite directions this year. That's a vast understatement. π’π’
2008 season
It was NYJ HC Eric Mangini
vs. Bills HC Dick Jauroun
, NYJ QB Eric Favre
vs. Bills QB Trent Edwards.
The Jets won on Nov. 2, 2008, 26-17 in Orchard Park, NY when the stadium was called Ralph Wilson stadium.
I attended with St. Fisher College alumni buddies, Lou Fuchs , Armando Santiago, John Butt.
6 weeks later, Dec. 14, 2008, I again was in attendance in NJ @ Giants Stadium as Brett Favre leads Gang Green to a 31-27 victory, and a 9-5 record.
Again, I had a fun time with some old Fisher pals; Ed Keough, & Larry Yetman.
Jets in playoffs , right ? NO WAY JOSE ! They lost the last two games to finish 9-7. Mangini was booted, and the one year Favre reign was over, as he never again took another snap for the J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS. The next season began the reign of HC Rex Ryan & QB Mark Sanchez. For those who don't know or cannot recall, that reign started well for the 2009 & 2010 seasons, but then quickly disingerated as Jet seasons have before and since.
The Bills finished the season @ 7-9 for the third consecutive year. Before the 2009 season was over, Jauroun was shown the door, Edwards was replaced at QB by a Harvard Crimson grad, Ryan Fitzpatrick. That grizzly veteran is still suiting it up in the NFL , now for the Miami Dolphins.
Sansucks, uh..uh..I mean Sanchez no longer suits up as an NFL QB, neither does Edwards both counting their NFL millions, I hope.
Both Mangini & Rex are using their expert (???) HC experience as TV football analysts. Both failed at figuring out how to beat Patriots & Belichek, with a few exceptions. Also, they both again got the boot from NFL HC jobs, the Browns & Bills respectively.
Dick Jauroun is probably enjoying post NFL life by golfing, fishing, or playing with the grandkids.A dozen years ago, seems like many, many more. The last NYJ game I attended was the infamous butt fumble game on Thanksgiving night, 2012 at Met Life Stadium. The contest was a massacre, and the JETS again were more inept that night than the teams of the Rich Kotite era. π―
Kristen & I loved the marvelous weather that night, until the second quarter began. UGH..π’π’
Belichek, TB12, and the rest of NE Patriots carved up the NY JETS, like the turkeys carved up in the pregame tailgate parking lot parties.
Yes, a lifetime ago, we've all aged, but like the loyal fool I am, I'm always suckered into believing wait until next year.ππ π€π€
