DEAR DEPRESSION,

UPDATE:
Jane Pauley veteran broadcaster of TODAY show, currently the host of CBS SUNDAY MORNING.

Cheers to Jane. It takes a bit of time to first recognize clinical depression and treat it. Then, more time to correctly diagnose the illness as bipolar depression. A very powerful one - two punch, depression & mania or hypomania. First, you have low self-esteem, low energy, and NO motivation.

Then, everything and anything sounds fun and exciting. What do you want ? A new car , no problem   Need to go on vacation lets buy one,  two timeshares.   Out of work ? Hey kids, lets go to the Final Four
How about a week on Jersey shore ?
Vegas? SF ?

New Orleans
Where were all my family ? They split, or have split, all of them.  Siblings, children. spouse....and when the storm got rough.

The brilliant Van Gogh struggled with a deep depression.

Oh so true, so true. Don't let it defeat you.

The is the deepest hurt defined. πŸ˜” πŸ’”πŸ’”

I was asked to complete this exercise three years ago, write a letter to depression. Wow. Little did I know, that in 3 months or so, Depression made another unexpected visit. A lengthy visit it was.

Note : I'VE battled the BIG "D" in 6 different major time frames.
1. FEB - DEC 2002
2. FALL '05 - DEC '06 ( maybe a month or so later). Wife quit on marriage MARCH '07. (Nov - Dec '06 spent 4 weeks in an outpatient partial mental health program ) PAITENCE as a nurse?
3. OCT '09 - SUMMER '10
4. MAY '13 - NOV '16
5. NOV '21 - SEPT. 22
6. OCT'24 - MARCH '25 ??

Dear Depression,
Good morning.  I really don't know how long you've accompanied me in life,  DEPRESSION

I don't really hate you, I respect you, I realize I'm the only one who battles you. AJS
Dear God, thank you for life, thank you for faith, thank you for my friends, thank you for all I have.
This was given to be by a dear friend from LI, a little over 10 years ago. Tell me is there a be better painting,  photograph that nails it so simply ?

Get back up !

We all face storms in life. Some are more difficult than others, but we all go through trials and tribulation. That's why we have the gift of faith.
