Birthdays, Tiger, Forgiveness !

Today, is the day we used to celebrate the birthdays of the two Anthony J. Schmitt's ; Jr & Sr, whom are no longer here to celebrate. I'm the lone survivor. Happy Birthday to them.

Today's news outlets are full of the Tiger Woods auto accident. Thankfully, he survived and no life threatening injuries. I first thought of his kids when I heard the news.

Like my father & grandfather, I think Tiger values his children above all his possessions. And, I think like AJS Jr. & Sr. , he has sought forgiveness for his transgressions in life from God, and forgiven others also. We all seek forgiveness from God, from others, God does forgive if we're sorry & repentant. Do others forgive , do we?

Dad & Grandpa had faith , sometimes weak , sometimes strong, I think Tiger's life was spared not to play golf, but to be a father for his children. That's my faith, I've asked for forgiveness throughout my life for transgressions. It seems though over the past few years, many who who were in my life, Christians ?, fail to answer my ask. It's not my problem, but theirs. Read on.

Prayers 🙏🙏🙏 for Tiger & his family.

He's a father, like my Dad & Grandpa. Family before farm or golf. I think.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🥳🎉🎂 DAD & GRANDPA.

THANKS FOR THE GIFTS OF LIFE, LOVE, & FAITH. 🙏❤️

The Mercy
Have mercy on me, O God, in your goodness;
in the greatness of your compassion wipe out my offense.
Psalm 51:3

There are seven penitential psalms that when sung or spoken can give us much spiritual help to express our repentance. These seven unique psalms are highly recommended to be prayed during Lent. The fourth and most famous, called “The Miserere,” was written by King David when he cried out to God begging for forgiveness after he had committed murder and adultery. Whatever our sins may be, we can discover in these ancient expressions of sorrow a divine forgiveness and healing consolation. Our sins may be few or many. Yet, like King David, we can offer our sincere prayer to our God of goodness, whose great compassion can wipe out any offense.

This Lent, the pleading prayer “Lord, have mercy” is the prelude to a eucharistic liturgy and can lead us to conversion and a better life.

Jonah 3:1-10 • Psalm 51:3-4, 12-13, 18-19 Luke 11:29-32

The fruit of Silence is Prayer. The fruit of Prayer is Faith. The fruit of Faith is Love. The fruit of Love is Service.

St. Mother Teresa

Yesterday's Gospel
Matthew 6:7-15 NIV

And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. “This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

If you're a Christian, then these words should be of concern if do not follow them.
