ADVENT IS UPON US

Image
The First Sunday in Advent.... On the first Sunday of Advent, the first purple (or violet) candle is lit. This is called the "Prophecy Candle" and recalls the prophets, particularly Isaiah, who foretold the birth of Jesus Christ. It represents  hope or expectation of the coming Messiah . Each Sunday following, an additional candle is lit Check out the clip.... FIRST SUNDAY IN ADVENT

NATIONAL FARMER'S DAY

Image
IT'S NATIONAL FARMER'S DAY !! If you eat food, everyday is NATIONAL FARMER'S DAY . I was fortunate to be surrounded by farmers growing up. Both grandfathers were farmers, and many relatives. The values of family & hard work were instilled in me on a daily basis. The B & H GREINER POTATO FARM & the AJ SCHMITT & SONS VEGETABLE FARM . God Bless the American Farmer. 🇺🇲 🙏❤️ American Farmer . lyrics by Charlie Daniels. See that man in the field over yonder With dirt on his hands and a loan on his back He's the man that puts the food on your table He's the man that grows the clothes on your back Were running a mile out of the house he was born in Tending on the sidelines and watching him fall Selling his land to the big corporations What you gonna do when they get it all He's been rolled for sure treated like a outlaw Turned down sold out, put out to graze He's been pushed you know when he can push no more It gets a little harder everyday He...

Your Faith has Saved You

Cardinal Joseph Tobin: “ Jesus said to the woman who anointed his feet, “Your sins are forgiven.” The others at table said to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” But he said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace” (cf. Lk 7:36–50). "Remember O Most Gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.” We come to you, Loving Mother, seeking your assistance. Help us in our times of need. Amen ____________________________ Conversation with Christ:  Lord, how easy it can be to be like Simon—to look down on others and judge them. Please make me keenly aware of my own need for grace and salvation. Give me wisdom and charity in my dealings with others.

Working Hard Should NOT be Done simply for a goal's sake at expense of Relationships with others.

A young man in his graduation cap and gown stands at the mic and explains why he regretted becoming Valedictorian of the school in probably THE BEST 6 minute speech I’ve heard. WOW!!! Seriously, just WOW!!!!!!!!! I was totally blown away… “ Have no regrets in the 16th Second” – is the title of the speech Kyle Martin gave at The King’s Academy’s graduation ceremony. He explains that he regrets graduating top of his class because while for 15 seconds it felt really good being named Valedictorian, on the 16th second he thought, “ That’s it?! ” For a years he had sacrificed personal relationships in order to focus on earning that achievement and for 15 seconds it felt good, but by the 16th second he found himself full or regrets… " That's it ?"   " Working hard is good, it is in fact biblical. But it should not be done for the sole purpose of a goal’s sake or at the expense of relationship with others,” Kyle Martin shared. “ Looking back on this year I realized the str...
